and also on the list of awesome things about Pittsburgh: it’s currently home to missouri natives corinne and russ. i knew right away that corinne was a “silverbox” bride. she wanted engagement pictures at her and russ’s favorite pittsburgh haunts, she loves pictures AND dogs (and had encouraging words that helped me through the first few weeks of potty training izze, our chocolate lab pup), and she has her own blog to help her stay in touch with loved ones.

so we took a tour of pittsburgh spots, made some pictures and celebrated that fact that russ and corinne are engaged and coming back to missouri next june to seal the deal.

It’s hard to pinpoint my favorite part of Nicole and David’s wedding weekend. Could it be the gorgeous October light? Was it standing atop a hill where grape vines and fall foliage stretch for miles? Perhaps, it was witnessing the giving of gifts from far-off lands, the emotional looks and embraces, the incorporation of loved ones in every element of the day, the stories of triumphs and hard work, or the fun had by all, that left me with a smile at the conclusion of Nicole and David’s Chaumette Winery wedding in Ste. Genevieve, MO.

Love this glance Steve, Nicole’s dad, gave her mother as he walked their only child up the aisle.

Hooray!

Congrats to Nicole + David! SOOOO many more great images to come. I can’t wait to share them all with you.

congrats to michelle + jeffrey, married in st. louis at the shrine of st. joseph with reception festivities at Kemoll’s top of the met. highlights of their wedding day include: a gift to jeffrey from his parents of a special bracelet that belonged to jeffrey’s late grandfather; a groomsman who auctioned off one special dance with jeffrey and one with michelle; a “little mermaid” musical performance by jeffrey’s neice; and a choreographed grand entrance dance by jeffrey and michelle. bonus #gazillion and six of being a photographer: bumping into like-minded, camera-crazy folks who develop into colleagues AND friends. ashley turner is one of those. she called amy and me one day asking if she could help out during a couple of photo shoots, and before long she’d grown her own photography business (while also growing to a family of 5)!

i jumped at the chance to photograph her family. sophie, my 9-year old daughter who held the reflector during the shoot, was so smitten with ashley’s new baby girls that we hadn’t even reached our car following the shoot when she renewed her attempts to convince me to have another baby: “Mom, I sure wish I had a baby sister like ellie and lucy to hold.” She had me half-convinced . . . (ha ha, just checking to see whether my husband actually reads my blog posts or not . . . ). and three cheers for sweet nicholas who is an amazing big brother and sooo patient when being photographed . . . i know he’s had lots of practice!
