The Silver Lining bio picture

welcome to the silver lining!

we're amy and kim.

. . . and my oh my do we ever LOVE what we do! We delight in spending your wedding day in your shadow. We create your family's first heirlooms by artistically photographing not just what you wear but how you feel.

We are fabulous friends, kindred spirits & business partners, too. We live in Columbia, Missouri. And we've been making pictures for most of our lives. Photography, for us, is a way of "savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second." [Marc Riboud, French photographer]

Our SilverBox couples want THAT kind of passion in their wedding photographer. They want authentic pictures that capture the joyous, quirky, love-drenched, laughter-filled moments of their day.

We can hard wait to meet YOU!

how cute is THIS!

holy cow this was fun!

these are little business card size magnets ~
oh i can’t wait to see (+ hold!) ‘em!

and look at me developing a little photoshop skill. impressed?
too cute for words i tell you . . .

and speaking of cute words:  here’s a new Silver Lining thing.
but first (wait for it) — the background story.

for many years instead of sending a “holiday letter” paul + i enclosed an “overheard” column ~ mostly just stuff our kids said that cracked us up.
we’d email each other conversations we had with the kids and then at year’s end (or sometime within a few months of that) we’d sift and mine. fun times!
i actually had friends call last year and say “got your card, but where’s Overheard?” ~ and well, we didn’t get one enclosed THIS YEAR either . . . so i’m going to start sharing them here. good plan? see, this afternoon on the way home from school, zoe (9) uttered a classic:

i tried that dried mango you got. NOT good. it’s like an INSULT to a mango.

here’s to keeping it real!

January 8, 2009 - 9:08 pm TripleC - Love this save the date design! So much more fun than the boxy things I've been getting from my friends...not that those are bad...this is just cooler and more creative :)

January 8, 2009 - 9:53 pm Mary - thank you thank you!! these are the best save-the-dates i've ever seen :)

January 9, 2009 - 5:57 am Dennis Bullock - That is a great Save the Date design! Good stuff...

January 10, 2009 - 10:51 am Jennie - Hee hee...love the quote from Zoe. And LOVE the "Overheard" column...we always said that if we had kids, we'd do something similar, but I don't know if we're organized enough to keep track of them. That, and Lucy doesn't talk yet. :)
