Congratulations, Bree & Craig, engaged and planning a June 2015 wedding (can you guess the day?!) right here in Columbia. Bree is a teacher extraordinaire, and Craig (in addition to his “day job”!) owns Woody’s Gentlemen’s Clothiers, Columbia’s newest and completely stylish menswear shop located on 9th street. We met on campus (the site of Craig’s proposal to Bree) for pictures and a stroll. So glad she said “yes!”

Whoop whoop! Hula hoop! Arden and Biff’s wedding in Franklin, Tennessee was pure delight and full of play.
Highlights (search below to see JUST what we mean) include: (1) a “first hula hoop” following the bride and groom’s “first dance”; (2) Arden and Biff’s “first look” in an alleyway so adorable that I want to live there; (3) rings atop a beloved grandma’s bible; (3) dancing in one of a series of refurbished factory buildings built in 1929 to manufacture stoves; (4) the best homemade organic lemonade I’ve ever tasted; (5) time for pictures in unbelievably quaint, downtown Franklin, TN; (6) the sleeves and an oh-so-flattering neckline on Arden’s bridal gown; (7) both sets of parents accompanying their children down the aisle; (8) photos of Biff and Arden set into vintage window frames hanging at the reception; (9) a big crowd of smart AND fun-loving family and friends from coast-to-coast; (10) did we mention hula hoops?!

Yay!!!! Oh, this makes me so happy to see!! Congrats, Arden– you look stunning!!Congratulations, John and Heidi Miles! What a pleasure for us as wedding photographers to help a couple celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary with . . . pictures! We’ve admired and adored this family for years, so we were thrilled to be co-conspirators in this birthday surprise that John and their children decided to spring on Heidi. A toast to John and Heidi . . . to 30 shared years . . . to raising four incredible children . . . and to at least thirty MORE years (see you at your 60th?). Happy Happy HAPPY 30th wedding anniversary, John & Heidi!

Congratulations, Rachel & Dallas, sweethearts since college. Dallas farms on land his family owns in Audrain County, so we headed out of Columbia and hit the back roads. I had a renewed appreciation for just how beautiful mid-Missouri is! Check back in March for pictures from Rachel & Dallas’ wedding.

Meredith and Scott had a two-part vision: a simple, elegant-yet-rustic outdoor ceremony followed by an evening of good food and dancing in a gorgeous indoor space with loads of historic charm. Well, they nailed it! Pairing Rock Bridge State Park with the Grand Ballroom of The Tiger Hotel made for a unique combination of venues that fit Meredith and Scott’s personalities perfectly. I have a special admiration for women who somehow manage to be both down-to-earth (it was Meredith’s idea to plop down, wedding dress and all, onto that fresh green clover!) AND graceful. Meredith, you got it goin’ on!!
The other key to the relaxed loveliness of their day was that they kept things simple. As a result, Meredith and Scott were able to soak up every minute of their wedding day. Case in point: not having a large wedding party (in fact, no wedding party at all!) meant that they had more time and attention to lavish on family and on one another all day long. Take a look.
